As every year Muhammad Medical College organizes Annual Medical Symposium for the betterment of students in the field of research and technology. So once again MMC has organized Annual medical Symposium that has been commendable and well organized as every year. The huge range of students participated from first to final years the majority participation was from final and fourth years of students with great zeal. Student led activity is an advanced form of Medical Education. Opportunities to enhance such activities are scarce in Pakistan. This devoid intelligent and able students of chance to grow and show their talents. Muhammad Medical College is acutely aware of this problem. This is why it places due importance to initial and advanced medical education. Once the students are advanced enough, it allows them to take part in educational activities as teachers and researchers for their training. As part of promoting students to grow into future doctors and medical educationists, MMC organizes several formal and informal activities every year. This year also, MMC organized a 3 days annual medical Symposium at Auditorium Hall. On Tuesday 05th of October 2021, the Annual Medical Symposium was held for the 19th Year in succession. The theme of these symposia has been


"19th Annual Medical Symposium 2021 Theme: Effect of Covid Pandemic On Personal and Professional Lives of Healthcare WorkersTelemedicine in Rural Areas of Pakistan"

Students were divided into groups of 4 students each, and were given tasks to educate fellow students and others, including their own teachers. Topics included a variety of important medical and surgical problems. Students were invited to talk about their topics to the audience, which included fellow senior medical students junior doctors and senior clinicians. With the help of multimedia presentations, one student of every group talked about the topics. This was followed by questions and answers and lively discussion among the presenters and participants. Students also presented their topics in the form of scientific posters and presented their topics to the other students and to a group of independent judges, comprising senior clinicians. On the first day of Symposium, the proceedings began with recitation from Holy Quran. The fourth years’ students presented their topics or study in well-organized way and it was seen that they worked hardly on their studies. This was done by Associate Professor in Biochemistry of the college, Dr. Shamsul Arfeen Khan. After the recitation the program started briefly went into the history of medical symposia held on a regular basis yearly at Muhammad Medical College, Mirpurkhas. It was talked about various ups and downs ad also on the quality and quantity of papers presented at the previous symposium which were later appreciated at various national and international forum. Professors, associate professors Associate Professors and assistant professors gave presentations. The next day, the 6th of October, the Annual Medical Symposium was held at auditorium Hall 2021. This is the 19th consecutive year that Muhammad Medical College & Hospital has been holding this seminar. The Annual Medical Symposium was held at Muhammad Medical and Dental College, Mirpurkhas on 5 th , 6th, and 7th Octuber 2021. A large number of delegates attended the Symposium both from within Mirpurkhas region and from other cities. Many scientific papers were presented by the research scholars and a number of State-of-Art Lectures were delivered by experts in various medical fields. The theme of the Symposium was “Effect of Covid Pandemic On Personal and Professional Lives of Healthcare WorkersTelemedicine in Rural Areas of Pakistan". On third day of 7 th 19th annual medical symposium 2021 of Muhammad medical college there was prize distribution ceremony conducted in which students were awarded with certificates on their remarkable performance and many dignitaries contributed.Prof:Dr. Syed Razi Muhammad the managing trustee of Muhammad foundation trust said that there must be a strategy should be planned related to health to a common person relief also he said there is highly need of modern medical facilities for a common patient with empathy especially in rural areas of our country with consideration so that a common patient can be facilitated at grass root level.
