It gives me immense pleasure to send this message for the 2008-2009 prospectus of the college. Muhammad Medical College, has progressed remarkably well during the short period and the University of Sindh is proud in having it in its fold as its affiliated college. I am glad to learn that not only Muhammad Medical College has been granted full recognition by PMDC but all examinations taken from first to final year MBBS have been approved as well. The future of students at MMC is now fully secured

Ethical behavior of doctors provide virtually half the relief to patients. However, it appears that medical graduates taking oath of Hippocrate, deem it the end of their ethical obligations. This is no place to mention all the ills and abuses rampant in the profession, even to the extent of stealing deceptively body organs of patients under the knife. Such black sheep are no doubt, rare but all the same, the need for improving the ethical behavior of doctors remains paramount.

Similarly research in medical sciences in our country is given least importance. Even doctors with post graduation appear to have no time for research, although it is through research in developed countries, that doctors are now able to treat or at least make it easier for terminally ill patients.

I earnestly hope the faculty and students of MMC will thoroughly deliberate on these issues and come up with viable recommendations in this regard.

I once again congratulate Prof. Dr. Syed Razi Muhammad Managing Trustee Muhammad Foundation Trust, the Principal of the college and his colleagues on their achievements.
