This year (19 May 2011), Professor Amir Ghafoor Khan of PGMI Peshawar was selected to talk on “My life, My Teacher”. It was the 10th Lecture in this series. Professor Khan is an prominent Physician and Gastroenterologist in Pakistan. He as trained in Britain, and having spent most of his professional life there, he returned to Pakistan and has been serving the motherland since then. He is currently Vice President of Pakistan Society of Gastroenterology & GI Endoscopy of KPP Chapter, and was the Chief Organiser of last year's Annaul International Conference of PSG&GIE at Bourban.

The Lecture was well attended by Principal, Vice Principal, Senior Faculty, many doctors from city of Mirpurkhas, doctors from far away cities, including Nawabshah, Umerkot, Miththi, Digri and TandoAllahyar. A large number of senior medical students from MMC was also present on the occasion to pay tribute to Dr. S. Ali Muhammad, and to listen to Professor Khan.

Professor Khan praised the services of Dr. S. Ali Muhammad in the field of medicine and social sector. He explained to the audience the main issues that make a person legend and quoted Dr. S. Ali Muhammad’s personality as a glare example of that. He then focused on the importance of the qualities of listening and talking among doctors. By giving life examples, he explained why it was so important to listen and talk to the patients. The described the art of history taking as one of the most important parts of medical education and practice. He emphasized on the importance of including Medical Ethics in Medical Curriculum.

Professor S. Razi Muhammad awarded Professor Khan with a Shield and College publications, and thanked him for giving a befitting lecture.
